Speaker Test
Check that your speakers or headphones work and that left and right are the right way round. Play a tone on either side, run the stereo or 5.1 surround sequence, try bass and treble tones, pink noise and a sweep. No app to install and no account to create.
Test your speakers
Press a button to start. The meters show what the browser sends to your output.
Start at a low volume, especially with headphones. Press any button again to stop it. Keys L, R and B play a side, Space runs the stereo test, Escape stops.
5.1 surround
Shown because your output reports six or more channels. The subwoofer plays 50 Hz, the other channels 440 Hz. The Web Audio standard defines layouts up to 5.1, so any channels beyond that are numbered.
Frequency checks
Each tone plays for two seconds on both sides, the sweep for ten. Press a button again to stop it early. Small speakers and laptops often cannot reproduce 40 Hz at all. Any other frequency: Tone Generator.
Noise
Noise plays until you press it again or Stop. Pink noise has equal energy per octave and is the usual signal for judging left-right balance by ear.
Meters moving but no sound? The signal leaves the browser fine, so check the system volume, mute and the selected output device. On an iPhone, check the ring/silent switch, which can mute web audio.
